I think it was 2002 that me and a couple of my sons and a nephew went out in the desert to bike & quad and have a fun time.
Nobody saw what happened, but I got ejected from the 3 wheeler that I was riding. As you can see, I was NOT wearing a helmet.
They went and got help, but the off-road rescue truck could not get to me, so they got a Air-Evac helicopter to come in.
I was unconscious for my only helicopter ride, and did not get to enjoy the view. The next day, I heard that my wife and kids had been at
the hospital the day before, but the hospital would not let her or my children in to see me, or let my wife know my status or condition.
All things considered, I was watched over and blessed. I had a fractured skull around the eye, 15 years of memory gone,
and left with no short term memory. After the accident, I could not drive or eat soild food for a month.
We got real creative with what foods you can put in a blender and suck thru a straw.
Update. Here it is 2009 and the memory never did get better. It is only getting worse.
